About the game
In Hanabi, players work together to create a spectacular fireworks display—but there is one major problem: you cannot see your own cards. Instead, each player holds their hand facing outward so that everyone else can see it.
The team must build fireworks in five colors, playing each set in numerical order from 1 through 5. On a turn, players may give another player a limited clue about the color or number of cards in that player’s hand, discard a card to regain a clue token, or risk playing a card they cannot see. A correct play advances the fireworks display; an incorrect one costs a fuse token. Make too many mistakes, and the fireworks show ends in disaster.
Success depends on careful communication, memory, deduction, and interpreting every clue your teammates provide. The included multicolored rainbow suit adds an advanced variation for groups ready for a greater challenge.
Hanabi is a compact cooperative card game where players must think as one team to create the highest-scoring fireworks show before their clue tokens, fuse tokens, or deck run out. It won the 2013 Spiel des Jahres award.
